Some Spring Break destinations restrict, outlaw Everclear
Students who plan on partaking in a few drinks this Spring Break should consider doing a little research before leaving.
One type of popular liquor, Everclear, which comes in 150-proof and 190-proof strengths, is a quick but cheap way to get intoxicated for many students. However, the 190-proof variety is already banned in numerous states, including some Spring Break hotspots like Florida, California and Nevada.
Iowa, which already has banned the 190-proof beverage, is considering banning 150-proof Everclear after a student at the University of Iowa went to the hospital with a blood alcohol level of .50.
